Boris Johnson's Conservative Party wins majority in UK 2019 Election
It was a crushing defeat for the opposition Labour Party

The Conservatives had secured 365 of the 650 seats in the House of Parliament, well ahead of Labour's  203 seats.

In 2019, 15 NRIs elected as MPs to UK Parliament as compared to 12 MPs in 2017.

Boris Johnson's Key new policies include £100 billion Northern infrastructure fund, £34billion extra funding for the NHS and greater schools funding.

Boris Johnson is a writer, and former journalist who has served as prime minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the Conservative Party since July 2019.

Brexit returned as the main focus for campaigning, though while many parties opposed to it.

With the large majority, the bill is expected to pass through Parliament in time to meet Boris Johnson's promise for the UK to leave the EU on January 31, 2020. In a general election, the UK's 46 million voters are invited to choose an MP for their area - one of 650 constituencies.
