“I came to this country from India 34 years ago as a young

sworn into office for a second term. “I’m a proud American
and consider public service a means of saying thank you to the country
that has given me so much.”
He continued by explaining to the gathering that, “Many times
I have been asked which political leaders have inspired me the most,
and Abraham Lincoln always comes to mind – especially his
words on always trying to do the best that you can in life ~ Lincoln
said: ‘I do the very best I know how - the very best I can;
and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.’ ”
“We will soon be celebrating Lincoln’s 200th birthday,
and his words of leadership and always doing the best you can, have
more meaning than ever for me as your Councilman in these challenging
times,” stated Councilman Sidhu. “I will continue to
do the best I can to serve all of you through strong, common sense
leadership that protects our residents and business owners, alike,
and improves the lives and opportunities for all in our great City
of Anaheim.”
Harry Sidhu was first elected to the Anaheim City Council in 2004.
He currently serves on the City Audit Committee, has focused on
keeping fees low and managing costs as an Orange County Sanitation
District Director, and along with his City Council colleagues ensured
the protection of property rights through the successful passage
of a City Charter Amendment prohibiting eminent domain abuse.
