NRI Kash Patel, a former Trump administration official and outspoken critic of government spending, once publicly denounced the FBI director's access to a government jet. But now, as questions arise over his own travel habits while engaged in public and private roles, Patel is remaining tight-lipped.
In a 2022 media appearance, Patel questioned why FBI Director Christopher Wray had access to a Gulfstream government aircraft, suggesting that such travel was an unnecessary taxpayer-funded luxury. “The American people deserve to know how their money is being used,” Patel said at the time. “There should be accountability, even at the top.”
Fast forward to today, Patel is facing similar scrutiny. Now a prominent figure in conservative media and political circles, Patel frequently travels to events and political gatherings. Yet when asked whether he has utilized government aircraft during his recent activities—especially during periods of advisory work with political campaigns or congressional committees, Patel declined to comment.
Repeated requests for clarification were met with silence or vague responses. A spokesperson for Patel did not return emails seeking comment, and a representative for a political group he has been affiliated with declined to provide details on how his travel is funded.
