NRI Martin Singh
NRI Martin Singh is a Canadian pharmacist and politician, currently serving as the Ontario New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for the Brampton East riding in the 2025 Ontario general election. He holds three degrees from Dalhousie University in chemistry, chemical engineering, and pharmacy. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary's University.
Professional Career
As a licensed pharmacist, Singh has been actively involved in healthcare and community services. He has designed and implemented community medication management programs, earning recognition from the Nova Scotia Department of Health. His commitment to public health is further demonstrated by his role as a delegate for Canada at the International Planned Parenthood Federation Conference in 2008.
Community Involvement
Singh has a strong history of supporting environmental protection and reproductive rights at the national level, having served on the boards of the Sierra Club of Canada and the Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada. In Brampton, he has been instrumental in youth development, notably serving as the Commanding Officer of the 557 Lorne Scots, Brampton's only army cadet corps, comprising approximately 220 cadets. He also assists cadets in obtaining First Aid qualifications and leads long-distance hiking programs on the Bruce Trail.

- 2012 Federal NDP Leadership Race: He was a candidate in the 2012 New Democratic Party leadership election, bringing attention to issues such as entrepreneurship, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and leadership.
- 2018 Municipal Election: Singh ran for the position of City Councillor for Wards 7 & 8 in Brampton during the 2018 municipal elections.
2025 Provincial Election: He is currently the NDP candidate for Brampton East in the upcoming 2025 Ontario general election, aiming to represent and address the needs of his community at the provincial level.
