With over 15 years of experience at Toronto City Hall, she has consistently worked to enhance services for families, newcomers, and diverse communities across Toronto.
Professional Background
Throughout her tenure at the City of Toronto, Chakraborti played a pivotal role in various initiatives:
- Toronto Newcomer Strategy: She was instrumental in developing the city's first Newcomer Strategy, aiming to improve access to essential services for new immigrants.
- Corporate Initiatives: As Project Director in the City Manager’s office, she advanced the city's accountability framework, updated the ethical framework for the public service, and led city-wide reviews to inform changes to the City of Toronto Act, 2006.
- Strategic Planning: Chakraborti contributed to developing Toronto's corporate strategic plan and COVID-19 recovery strategy, supporting transitions for new mayors and implementing governance changes arising from the introduction of strong mayor powers.
