NRI Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google announced that Google would be investing $10 billion in India’s digitisation fund

NRI  Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and parent company Alphabet, on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington, after which the executive announced that his organisation would be investing $10 billion in India’s digitisation fund. Google will concentrated in 4 projects:

  2. Building new services that are relevant to India’s unique needs.
  3. Empowering businesses as they embark on digital transformation.

NRI Sundar Pichai Google's CEO since 2015 named CEO of Google's parent company, Alphabet

  •  Alphabet is parent company of Google and world's fifth-largest technology company by revenue.
  • The two founders of Google,  Page and Brin will remain controlling shareholders of Alphabet, Inc.
  • Sundar Pichai will get a pay increase $2 million/year and Awarded $242 Million Pay Package

Page and Brin announced their resignation from their executive posts in December 2019, with the CEO role to be filled with Sundar Pichai, also the CEO of Google. parent company of Google and several former Google subsidiaries.

Sundar Pichai has done a great job  for managing Google and  for this reason Brin and Page decided to leave their top positions from the company.

The two founders of Google assumed executive roles in the new company, with Larry Page serving as CEO and Sergey Brin as president. Alphabet is the world's fifth-largest technology company by revenue

A December 17 SEC filing revealed that Pichai was getting a pay raise for his now dual roles. His salary will increase to $2 million, plus millions more in stock, some of which will be tied to the company's performance.

  • Pichai  will get $150 million in restricted stock that vests over time
  • Her can now earn at least $90 million in additional stock if the company hits certain performance targets.
  • Sundar Pichai's pay is now largely tied to how the stock performs over the next two to three years.

In 2016, his earnings doubled to $199 million. His base salary is $650,000. Though that number grows to $1.88 million when other basic considerations like salary and travel are taken into account.

Sundar Pichai earned approximately $100 million in 2015 in salary and other forms of compensation.

NRI Sundar Pichai became the CEO of the core business of Google

On Monday, Aug 11, 2015, Google announced on Monday the launch of Alphabet Inc as its parent company with co-founders Larry Page as its CEO and Sergey Brin as president. This has paved way for Pichai to become the next CEO of Google, which will be the new entity’s largest fully owned subsidiary, a trimmed version of what it is known now. The new structure, which will take shape over the next few months, was announced by Page in a blogpost and in a filing to the Security and Exchange Commission. Google’s main business will include search, ads, maps, apps, YouTube and Android and all related technical infrastructure.

Alphabet Inc. will replace Google Inc. as the publicly-traded entity and all shares of Google will automatically convert into the same number of shares of Alphabet, with all of the same rights. Google will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alphabet. Two classes of shares will continue to trade on Nasdaq as GOOGL and GOOG.

On Friday, Larry Page, CEO of Google, announced that Sundar Pichai will now lead nearly every major product division at the company that includes search, maps, Google+, commerce, research, plus ads and infrastructure. It means, he is promoted to the highest ranks at Google. Larry Page will continue to manage Google’s business and operations

Formerly, Sundar was head of Android and Chrome. He led successful efforts for difficult projects that were core to Google’s continued financial success, namely Toolbar and Chrome. Toolbar wasn’t an obviously sexy product but it helped defend the presence of Google search on users’ computers during a critical period following the revelation of Google’s incredible profitability. Chrome extended that mission to improve the user experience of the entire web: keep users on the web and you’ll keep them searching on Google.

Sundar Pichai,  also known as Pichai Sundararajan, a Senior Vice President at Google where he oversees Android, Chrome, Google Apps, search, research, maps, commerce, ads, infrastructure, and Google.

  • In October 2014, Google CEO Larry Page promoted Pichai to chief of core Google products
  • Sundar  was born in Chennai, India,  received his Bachelors in Technology from the department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He was awarded an Institute Silver Medal
  •  He received  M.S. from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar
  • Pichai worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials and in management consulting at McKinsey & Company
  • In 2004, he joined Google and  responsible for the product management and innovation, including Google Chrome and Chrome OS, development of different apps like Gmail and Google Maps
  • In 2009,  he gave a demonstration of Chrome OS and later announced the open-sourcing of the new video codec VP8 by Google, and introduced the new video format webm.
  • In 2013, he added Android to the Google products which was formerly managed by Andy Rubin.
  • In 2014, Sundar launched Android one project in India, aimed at reaching the next 5 billion people and India would play a major role in this endeavour.

Sundar Pichai serves as a Member of Board of Advisors at Ruba, Inc and  served as Director of Jive Software from April 2011 till 30 July 2013. It was rumored that Sundar was one of the contenders for the CEO position of Microsoft in 2014

Sundar Pichai who runs Android,  is now the CEO of Google. A Google become the part of a larger entity called Alphabet. Larry Page, who will now be the CEO of the larger entity, made the announcement in a blogpost and said he was excited to see Pichai take on the role of Google CEO
