A spectacular Sunday afternoon full of elegance, beauty, style and design, offering the audience a consistent sense of frisson on the one side, and the keen desire to render a helping hand to the Akshaya Patra Foundation, under privileged kids on the other, was the perfect scenario of the event. The MC of the show, was Shailesh Rathod, who kept the crowd engaged, and remarkably in the limelight. There was press conference, and lunch before the main event.
Madhu Sridhar, President and CEO of Akshaya Patra Foundation, USA, sketched the organizational activities and a compendium of Akshaya Patra, leaving the audience wonderstruck. Vandana Tilak, Los Angeles Chapter Chair, and Ravi Tilak, addressed the awareness and funds for Akshaya Patra, and appreciated the overwhelming support of the guests and sponsors. The highlight of the event was “Shyamal & Bhumika Fashion Show” which brought a lot of attention and excitement to the event. Shyamal & Bhumika will be remembered for their exquisite fashion designs, gorgeous models, and elegant display of their art.
Our attention and heart definitely focuses on the children, their upbringing, their care, their education and their needs. We can all easily relate to “Akshaya Patra Foundation” and monetize our efforts for the children of tomorrow. It is depressing and embarrassing to know that there are 25 million primary level kids that are not in school for lack of provision and that 1/3rd of the world’s malnourished children live in India. How can the kids focus on education without a sumptuous meal everyday?
Akshaya Patra Foundation has taken a very important stand of providing a mid-day meal to underprivileged children utilizing the innovative technology, smart engineering and good management to provide a freshly prepared nutritious mid-day school meal to nearly 1.2 million disadvantaged school children in India everyday. Akshaya Patra Foundation has also taken into consideration, the hygienic aspect of this program by not involving any human hands touching the food, while it is being prepared, but to prepare everything through modern innovative machines that will blow your mind. You will be proud to know that these machines and this technology is the best technology in the world, preparing 185,000 meals in less than five hours in the largest kitchen in Hubli.
 The Akshaya Patra Foundation, is fortunate to have leaders like Ravi Tilak and Vandana Tilak who have done an outstanding job with 'The Akshaya Patra' Los Angeles Chapter, leading the millions to an impelling and charitable conscience. It is an honor and extreme motivation for the viewers and guests, who have been made aware of such an awe inspiring foundation that caters to the under privileged children in India, who are the future of tomorrow, and to see such a sumptuous amount of Donation, $100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand) U. S. Dollars presented to the Akshaya Patra Foundation, at the function in honor of Ravi Tilak's Grand Mother, Mrs. Kamlabai Tilak, who turned 100 years of age on April 30, 2012. She is definitely fortunate and proud to have assimilated such expending qualities in the family.
We must thank our forefathers who focused on the status of a family, excogitate from education. Education and our intelligent minds in Technology, has put India on a Distinctive Scale in the world. Lets all support Akshaya Patra Foundation genuinely and with a sense of passion for this noble service to India and its future.
