NAMITA MUKHERJEE MEMORIAL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

A Registered Non profit Charitable organisation of Kolkata, India, is an united force of likeminded individuals who believe in the cause of service to the sufferings of human beings.

All its Board Members are distinguished and successful persons from different walks of life with motive of service to the mankind. The problems of growing inequality, poverty and hunger are getting worse inspite of the huge surge of economic growth over last few years in India.

The organisation therfore works to serve individuals and families in the poorest sections of the country. It confronts the underlying causes of the sufferings of the people and has taken the following tasks to fight out as the remedy.

• It considers to provide the free education to the poor and meritorious students of the down trodden sections in schools and financial assistance to them in colleges and Universities to make them Doctors,Engineers and able Managers vouching to serve the Nation.
  
  
• It feels poor women and children as the backbone of the Nation who can improve the future life of the community and thus to prevent the loss of this resources by untime death,it is committed to provide them with timely medical assistance and help.
  
  
• It aims at working to improve the lives of the children and female folk by feeding those suffering from malnutrition and anemic diseases with proper callories. Orphans, destitute children and age old destitutes irrespective of caste and creeds are concerns for the Foundation which wants to take care of them by arranging their foods ,clothes and medicines
  
  
• It looks for upliftment of disabled and mentally retarded children by providing the disabled with orthopaedic appliances and for financing their training and development.
  
  
• It is programming for the shelter of the homeless and for improvements of housing conditions for low income group people with cheap houses.
  
  
• It wants to fight for pollution free environment for all people and to plant trees for oxygen in polluted areas.
  
  
• Natural alamities have been stalking Indian people since the dawn of civilisation.The Foundation has set up its Disaster Mitigation Programme to assist individuals,families and communities victimised by natural disaster,calamities and unforseen tragedies.
