NRI, Ramesh Verma is named a
member of Michigan's commission
on services to the aging by Governor Granholm
LANSING, April 9, 2004
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm recently announced the appointments
of Mr. Ramesh Verma to the Certificate of Need Commission and
the Commission on Services to the Aging:
Ramesh Verma of Novi is a director of health care engineering
for Ayres, Lewis, Norris & May, Inc., consulting firm in Ann
Arbor. Mr. Verma is appointed to represent the general public
for a term expiring July 28, 2006. He succeeds the late James
W. Shelton.
The above appointments are subject to the advice and consent
of the Senate
Ramesh C. Verma, currently a consultant with Hanscomb Faithful
& Gould at Farmington Hills in Michigan, will be on the commission
till July 28, 2006.
Verma has been with the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann
Arbor, from 1983 to 1996, where he rose to be director of design,
construction and utilities office.
From 1996 to 1998, Verma was director of design and construction
with Henry Ford Health System in Detroit..
He was born in Myanmar and brought up in India, Verma had joined
the Indian Army as a commissioned officer. He left the army as
a captain and came to the US in 1972.
