NRI Dr Mumtaz Patel has been appointed as the new President of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), taking on the role following a challenging period for the organization. Dr Diana Walford CBE, Chair of the RCP Board of Trustees, expressed confidence in Dr Patel’s ability to lead with integrity and rebuild trust.
Dr Patel brings extensive experience to the role, having held key educational positions within the RCP and currently serving as an NHS England post-graduate associate dean. She is recognized for her work in education, training, assessment, and research, and has delivered leadership courses both in the UK and internationally.
