NRI Pravin Patel, Quiznos store owner, shot  to death  during robbery

About 3.25pm, Tuesday, a robbery suspect entered Quiznos restaurant, 1034 W. Arrow Highway and brandished a semi-automatic handgun, demanding money from the Pravin Patel, store owner. Pravin Patel handed the suspect a bag of money, and then he followed and confronted the suspect outside the business.

Patel, 62, had been shot in the chest and died around 10:40 p.m Tuesday at a hospital. The suspect, robber was a man in his late 20s, white or Hispanic, about six feet tall and 175 pounds. He was wearing a black cap, black shirt and dark short pants with a plaid pattern

“Whoever did this took away a life that never should have been taken away this early, and should never have been taken away in this manner,” said Risha Patel.

“If you are that desperate, this man would have given it to you. You didn’t have to shoot him,” she added.
