Surrey, BC RCMP is looking Jaspal “Jessie” Dhinsda,
22, suspect following a shooting incident at 67th Ave. and 127a
St., Surrey, last week and press release today that Dhindsa is
armed and dangerous.
Police told media today:
- Two men had become engaged in a verbal and then physical altercation
on March 13th, at about 5:30 p.m.
- Once the physical fight was underway, a third male appeared
and fired a handgun striking the victim in the back.
- The victim might be paralyzed from the waist down
- Jaspal “Jessie” Dhinsda faces charges of aggravated
assault and discharging a firearm with intent to wound.
The gunman along with other man ran away and left the third person
bleeding in the driveway. The police believe that the men were
involve in drug business and they are also investigating that
there is any ties with gang members
Sgt. Roger Morrow said there were about 30 residents who were
watching this fight but no body came us to give the statement.
We are in the process of witnesses and looking the resident and
public help to find this person.
According to the local media, 2/3 of the population believe that
some ethnic groups (NRI and Asian/Oriental) are more responsible
for crime than others. The Canadian government has now formed
a federal task force to address the problem of Indo-Canadian violence.
