Brampton Students or NRI Sukdeep Singh and Inderjeet Singh arrested after 38 kg cocaine seized at Windsor-Detroit border

Two truck drivers, NRI Sukdeep Singh, 31, of Brampton, and Inderjeet Singh, 26, of Lindsay, were arrested and both face charges after Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) seized boxes containing 38 kilograms cocaine, worth $4.8M from a transport truck at the Windsor-Detroit border. On March 17, the truck was carrying a mixed load of citrus fruit, was stopped as it entered Canada.
During secondary examination of the trailer contents, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers discovered suspected cocaine packaged and hidden in cardboard boxes.
Both NRIs have been charged with importation of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Ambassador Bridge operations district director Joe McMahon said: “The CBSA wants to send a clear message. We are absolutely committed to working with our enforcement partners, such as the RCMP, to safeguard Canadians; especially during these trying times. We remain committed to keeping narcotics out of our communities.”
They have been scheduled for a court appearance in Windsor on June 8. The RCMP said its investigation continues
