India Association of So Californian Diwali celebration

with full salute to our Jawans

Over a crowd of 400 people  stepped away from their busy schedule to be present  at the Diwali event organized by the Indian Association of southern California  on, October 16 at the Sanatan Mandir Auditorium at Norwalk, CA.  The event kicked off with a  groundbreaking  candlelight vigil around the temple in support of Indian Army  and to condemn the killing of seventeen Indian soldiers  at Uri on September 18, 2016 .

 Kamini Khare, the Founder of IASC introduced the committee members Atul Makwana, Charu Shivakumar, Dipal Makwana, Nila Parikh, Anjana Patel, Chitralekha Pasi, Sanjay Dighe, Ranjith Vishwanath, Ravi Vishwanath, Dimple Mehta, Dilpreet and Sushila Parikh.   Dr. Nehru, Kamlesh Chauhan, Ramesh Mahajan, Ali Sajjad Taj appreciated the social and cultural activities of IASC and wished the audience a happy Diwali. Mr. Sunil Tolani in his welcome speech wish every one happy Diwali and prosperous new year and also express the importance of unity in community and nurturing young generation in  USA. He said, Iasc is only organization who puts India and youth first in all their activities.  Kamini Khare thanked  longtime patron of the association , Avadesh Agarwal, Dr Krishna Reddy Suresh & Nalini Bhatti, Sunil Tolani and State Bank of India, Sam Goswami, High glow Jeweler, Ravji Bhai Patel, Ramesh Mahajan, Dr. Aarti Shah, ISHKON and Nanak food Munish Makkar of  Ras Bhog lend their support to for Diwali festivities.

One minute silence was observed to honor the soldiers, who have lost their life defending Mother India, and Full salute were given by all the audience to our army Jawans. A spectacular evening began with offering to lord Rama a prayer dance by  Diya sahai student of Vijaya Bhanu followed Lord Ganesh & Goddess  Lakshmi salutation dance number by Agna Mehta, Kisha Mehta, Meera Parikh, Diya and Aditi Lakshman choreographed by Sunaja Lakshman. Sloka were recited conch was blown ,flowers were offered. Stage was all set for cultural show.

Bollywood famous song papi buchuva dance was presented by Jasmin sivakumararan ,Arya & Dhruti Kulkarni, Nidhi Alle, Kashvi Prasad Choreographed by Rachana Shrivastava,Their costume and facial expression was ten out of ten for the audience. After bichuva sting Alpana Sreedhar dance group performers Samriddhi Sreedhar, Satvika Yayavaram, Juhi Kakarla, Varnika Sharma, Srimanvita Kamisetty  presented fusion of classical and modern dance number on famous song Bhole Shambhoo that churn and twist everyone from east to west and west to east.

After enjoying churning and twisting fusion beat they sure needed to cool down. Sabari Girish came on the stage accompanied by Keerthana and Shivani entertained  the guest with their soulful singing. The event, from the beginning, took on a relaxed and fun filled atmosphere. Next unique concept depicting five elements, air group brought storm in the hall fire brought enough heat on stage at the end audience were taken to space brought back to green earth, choreographed by Sudipta Ghosh and performed by by  Chaitanyasree Rudra,  Askh Munot, Aksheta Mangipudi , Tarunika Venkat, Sahasra Nandurru, Debodipta Ghosh, Aniya Tripathi, Somayra Shrivastava, Keshma  Chandra Misty Tiwari, Kisha Jain, Arushi Patil, Esha Bhandari, Prachiti Sobnis, Smprita Chakraborty , Neha Mundhada.

Letz Dance Acadey presented their fusion dance east meets west choreographed by Deepa Anand and performed by Anavi, Nethra, Aditti, Priya, Disha and Neha. Real treat was watching Teacher Deepa Anad dancing with her students. This was followed by a dazzling performance  by Agna Mehta, Meera ParIkh , Jasmin Sivakumaran, Aditi Lakshman Diya Lakshman, and Kisha Mehta, choreographed by Sunaja Lakshman. The cultural program provided variety from various parts of India covering classical, semi classical, fusion, Bollywood to be able to provide everyone something that they could relate and enjoy. Odissi  dance choreographed by Swarnava Sarangi was performed by Disha Mohanty, Veda Nayer, Sumaya Swati and Ramya Swati. This was followed by a stylish Bollywood dance by Mrunal Kulkarni, Shriya Gupta, Srushti Kamble, and Saumya Shah Agarwal.  Alpana Sreedhar presented a theme based  Atom Bollywood dance performed by her students Samrridhi Sreedhar ,Nidhi Alle, Satvika Yayavaram, Niharika Rajesh,  Smera Arun, Harini  Devaguptapu. Dance bonanza ended with Apoorva Santos & Navinkant Duet dance.t Next came Keerthana, Advika, Aishi, Annika  to rock the stage to live singing by Sabari.


People applauded and cheered after every song, and even danced to a few of their hits. Sunil Tolani distributed the certificates to all the Participants.  Manish Makkar of Rasbhog catered to the event.  Mani provided the excellent DJ services.
