Ram Leela cultural show organized by IASC had true spirit of Diwali

Southern California was buzzing with musical beats and dancing in every city and organization to mark the festival of Diwali.

India Association of So California Diwali live Ram Leela show stands out with others at Sanatan Mandir on October 25th 2015.Program started at 5 pm with delicious dinner catered by Rasbhog vegetarian cuisine of India at pioneer blvd in city of Artesia. Cultural program started at 6.30 pm with Isac president Atul Makwana and fund raising chair women Charu Shivkumar welcoming the guest in various Indian languages.

Singer Uthra Rajamani was introduced by the president to the audience and she started the evening with invoking the lord Ganesh Ji. Old songs from 1960 in her melodious voice gave head start for grand opening of Ramayan show. IASC founder member Kamini khare explain the significance of epic Ramayan in Hindu religion and culture.

She said,‘Story of Lord Rama has been sang and narrated for the centuries and it will be narrated in the future also as long as sun & moon will shine in the sky’. She also shed some light on how Lord Rama’s vows to Sita to remain her husband only that has set tradition and example of monogamy in Hindu culture for other kings.

Ram leela was staged in three segments; first was Queen Kekai in Kop Bhawn, where whole story takes place how Queen writes new chapter in Ramayan by sending Ram to exile for fourteen years to the forest and King Dasharath dies in grief. Each dialogue of the play was full of emotion, devotion, revenge and example of ideal qualities of son Rama. Next scene was staged Sita Haran where Sita asked Rama to catch golden deer for her to keep as a pet. This chapter in Ramayan signifies victory of good over evil is certain in life. Third scene was Ram returned to Ayodhya with Sita and brother Laxaman that started celebration of Diwali with lighting of diya around the home. Role of Rama was played by ,Shushant Gupta, Laxaman, Dhruv parikh, Sita, Zealie Ahir,King Dasharath by Ranjit Vishwanath, Arya Suman Ravi Vishwanath, Kekai, Chitra Passi, Kaushalya, Kamini khare,savika, Nila parikh and Anjana patel, Sadhu Ravan, Pushpa Chandra King Rawan by Ravi Malla and Shri Ram devotee Hanuman ji was played by Keshwan Malla.

At this time committee members, invited guest dignitaries’ state senator Tony Mendoza, Dr. Krishna Reddy, Mr. Suresh Bhatti and sponsors on the stage. They all were recognized for their contribution in south land for supporting the event like this to carry on the Hindu culture and heritage for next generation. State senator Tony Mendoza greeted the audience happy Diwali and presented a congratulatory plaque to all the IASC Members with Mr. Ramesh Mahajan.

Diya was lighted at the altar of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxami to mark the day for healthy, wealthy & prosperous life for everyone.

Second half of the show started with young artist dancing on Bollywood famous songs from various Dance schools. Every dance group had unique style of dance and their costumes were just fabulous. Show ended with Bollywood music beats for audience to dance. Event was show case of diwali theme. People of India from north to south and east to west had worked together to organize Ram leela Diwali program for all of us. Few booths in the court yard were happy to become the part of the event. They all had brisk business. High light of the show was welcoming Diya dance by team of fourteen students of paulomi dance school  when Lord Ram comes back to Ayodhya with Sita and Laxaman.  It was delightful to watch. Lot of thanks was shower to all the audience, sponsors and participants, without their cooperation and participation show of such magnitude is not possible.
