            Valley Celebrates India Republic Day 
            San   Fernando Valley, CA - India Association of Los Angeles (IALA)   celebrated India’s Republic Day on February 7th at Royal Delhi Palace,   Canoga Park with great enthusiasm and pride.             
              
            Prior to start of the   event, Consul General of India, Ambassador Venkatesan Ashok was received   and addressed the gathering of the Board of Directors, and Executive   members. CGI shared his plan to restart Visa camp in Southern   California. He also asked to take advantage of Visa on Arrival facility. His simplicity and willingness to work for Indian community touched everybody’s heart. 
            The   show started with American National Anthem sang by twin sisters Rama   & Rucha Kelkar and followed by Indian national Anthem sang by Riya   Puri & Pragya Gupta. Chairman Iqbal Samara and President Vinod   Manchhani welcomed all in their opening speeches. 
              
            IALA   provides a platform to the kids to showcase their talent. VP-Cultural,   Nalini  Natrajan, along with Kavita Puri, Nishi, and Kiran Khamboj   emceed the program. The culture program started with a dance performed   by Parishi, Kiran, Rachael, & Sara. Oher beautiful dances performed   by Thalam School of fine arts, EB Bollywood dance school, and Shingari’s   school of Rhythm. Kamini Natrajan sang few songs on Karaoke in her   melodious voice.  
            A small video   presentation was presented by Sunil Agrawal, VP – Public Relations, to   show the history and significance of the India Republic Day. It was full   of historical information about Republic Day, and showed highlights of   this year’s India Republic Day Parade, where president Obama was the   Chief Guest.  
            Various dignitaries   graced the occasion and enjoyed the cultural program. Mr Scott Abrams,   District Director from the honorable Congressman Brad Sherman’s office,   Oscar Garcia, District Director from the office of Assemblymember   Matthew Dababneh, and Poonam Narewatt, Central Area Representative from   the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti were present. They were   welcomed and honored by the President Vinod Manchhani, Executive Vice   President Manmohan Chopara, and Secretary Arvind Gupta. Invited   dignitaries addressed the audience and presented certificates to the   association.  
            Event ended with   open dance floor where everybody enjoyed dancing. Event thoroughly   enjoyed by the audience and they appreciated organizers to put such a   wonderful event.
