            Los Angeles, Jan 28, 2011
“We have established  new FIA to bring together Indians and Indian Associations on one platform  and to recognize all community activists, community leaders and entrepreneurs,” said  Mr. Rashmi shah- president  and Mr. Rattan Joea- president elect.

Assemblymember Tony Mendoza (D-Norwalk) was a chief guest at Republic Day Celebration on Jan 26 in Artesia, told 100s NRI audience that he is in the process to introduce ACR 85 Bill, commemorating Republic Day of India, to be presented to distinguished leaders of the Indo-American community on the Assembly Floor on Thursday, February 02, 2012.

"This is an important holiday for Indo-Americans and Floor leader Calderon is trying to block this being presented," said Tony Mendoz. "Republic Day continues to be a source of pride for the people of India, a significant day for democracy in general and it was on this day in 1950 that the Constitution of India was enacted and the Republic was formed."

Most of the NRIs used the Republic Day to assert how proud they are to be Indians and say: Happy Republic Day to all................ Saare jaahan se accha hindustan hamara.
In 1997, when A.R. Rahman presented a revamped Vande Mataram, to mark India’s 50th Independence Day, it made every Indian extremely proud.
Most of the NRIs say it is one of the greatest event on earth and shows India's cultures in all their diversity.
