As the ministry and administration of India have been rocked by charges of corruption, the people of India have taken their voices to the streets in trying to convince the government to introduce a ‘Jan Lokpal Bill’ (citizen’s ombudsman bill).   This bill will give bodies independent of Government the power to investigate corruption charges and conduct speedy prosecution of government officials including the Prime Minister and Judiciary. Though the exact nature of the bill will be debated, COLAIAPA strongly supports the people’s sentiments and aspirations to get rid of corruption in India. It also joins a lot of organizations outside India to address the issue, as this is truly a global problem.
The office bearers are: Sanmay Mukhopadhyay, Ramesh Ramnani, Ashok Madan, Padmaja Choday and Rajesh Prabhu.
