Hariharan "Hari" Sreenivasan, NRI journalist who has worked primarily for American broadcast media.

  • He was born in Mumbai on 1974 and immigrate to the United States at age seven.
  • He attended Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, Washington, USA and became a radio disc jockey
  • In 1995, he got degree in mass communication from University of Puget Sound and also interned for several TV news stations
  • In 1995, he got job at WNCN-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina, NBC affiliate station
  • He moved to San Francisco, California covering the high tech sector for CNET.
  • In 2004, he was hired as a correspondent by ABC News in New York City and became co-anchor, with Taina Hernandez, of World News Now
  • In 2008, Sreenivasan became an American citizen
  • In 2009, he worked as a correspondent for Dallas CBS News
  • Late in 2009, he joined The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer as an "online/on-air correspondent
  • In 2013, Sreenivasan became the anchor for PBS NewsHour Weekend

Sreenivasan received Emmy nominations for NewsHour coverage of the Gulf oil spill, his work on an Interactive piece for PBS Frontline Targeting the Electorate and for his reporting at CBS.

He is the recipient of multiple Outstanding Broadcast Story Awards from the South Asian Journalists Association, an organization for which he served as a board member from 2001-04. Sreenivasan is also a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and a 2003 graduate of their Executive Leadership Program.
