ring leader along with 13 charged for smuggling illegal aliens ot

NRI, Kavel Multani, 46, B.C. along with other three, was arrested
by RCMP. Border patrol agents intercepted a minivan carrying 10
illegal aliens near the Oroville port of entry. It is beleived that
the van was registered under Kavel Multani's name. Multani has a
dual Canadian and Indian citizen, living in Vancouver.
- Along with him, three other men believed to be involved in
the smuggling ring:
- Nizar Sabaz-Ali, 38, a Pakistani citizen of North York,
Ontario; Canada
- Sandip Parhar, 26, a Canadian citizen of Delta, B.C., Canada
- Armardeep Singh Powar, 23, an Indian citizen of Vancouver,
Canada
Others arrested
- Raman Pathania, 19, an Indian citizen of Surrey, B.C.,Canada
- Jatinder Brar, 19, a Canadian citizen of Surrey, Canada
- Sukveer Sandhu, 18, a Canadian citizen of Surrey., Canada
- Matthew Dehagi, 35, a Canadian citizen of Port Coquitlam, B.C.,
Canada
- Harjeevan Parhar, 23, an Indian citizen of Surrey, Canada
- Anthony Maclean, 21, a Canadian citizen of Richmond, B.C., Canada
- Harminder Singh, 37, an Indian citizen of Kent, Wash., USA
- Lawrence Carter, 23, a U.S. citizen of Whidbey Island, Wash.,
USA
Still seeking two other men who have been indicted.
Authorities said that network in Vancouver is part of an organization
spread across Canada. This is confirmed report that 12 people have
been arrested in this conection. On Wednesday, Canadian authorities
with the help of US authorities announced they have broken up a
human smuggling ring. This ring was smuggling mostly Indian and
Pakistani nationals into Washington state, US from British Columbia,
Canada
It is estimated that that more than 50 people were on smuggling
process to US by this ring and each person paid approximately US
$ 35, 000/-.
In January 2005, investigation started when U.S. customs officials
got information about three men near Oroville, a small Eastern Washington
town just south of the Canadian border had bought maps of the border
and had asked about border patrol and Canadian police enforcement
activity in the area.
