A red carpet entry was made for Saffron International’s affluent
and chic guest for this afternoon fashion affair. A fine continental
lunch was served to all guest and wine poured from bottle to celebrate
Saffron’s launch of Ravi Bajaj for the first time in America.
The black curtains were drawn and the audience took their first
look at the icy ivory and white stage covered with leather and feathers.
The crowd took their seats and Sahiba Chadha on behalf of Saffron
International welcomed guests to the event and promised an unforgettable
afternoon. The torch was later passed to well know community member
and Mrs. India 1995 and socialite Nandini Chorpa, who introduced
the collection with great enthusiasm. She introduced Ravi Bajaj’s
collection as a six-yard of sensuality has been exemplified in opulent
prints of floral going graphic and floral co-existing with geometric
patterns. The canvas is painted with colors like ribbon red with
black, black with white, nude with candy, nude with bright plum,
midnight blue with metallic tones, pearly pink with black
The show began with a dramatic entry of 5 models and temple bells.
One after another 17 Hollywood models took over the ramp and showed
the elegance of saris and outfits through 8 different collections.
The various collection segments were accompanied by complimenting
light effects and music themes.
Sahiba Chadha co-owner of Saffron International informed that a
lot of hard work, efficient management, and a good PR was needed
for this afternoon show to take shape. She added that a professional
team was flown from India for this show. The show was directed and
choreographed by India’s top choreographer Anu Ahuja, who
has managed top fashion events in India including brand launches,
India Fashion Weeks, and the Femina Miss India contest. All music
was prepared by leading DJs in India and a professional backstage
help was also flown from Bombay for this show.
Socialites, entrepreneurs, people from the Hollywood and Bollywood
film fraternity were all present to celebrate Saffron’s success.
Moments after the fashion show, all garments were made available
for sale to the guest at the same MRP as in India. Women quickly
emptied the racks and took home a signature piece of Ravi Bajaj’s
latest Fall Winter Collection 2008.
A grand affair, a high-class gentry, a world class fashion show,
and fabulous sales figures all summed up as a successful event for
Saffron International and Ravi Bajaj.
When asked about her future plans, Sahiba added that it would be
something everyone will have to wait and watch; but it will be totally
different which will be something the whole city will rave about
for months.
