Dr. Bains honored ‘Award of Honour’ in Punjab for
his outstanding
volunteer services to the global community

Prominent educator, community activist and Sikh scholar Dr. Raghbir
Singh Bains who is winner of dozens of local, national and international
awards was bestowed with one more plume to his crown when he was
honored with ‘Award of Honour’ in Punjab University
Diamond Jubilee Festival held at Ramgahia Girls College Ludhiana.
The award was presented to Dr. Bains for his outstanding volunteer
services to the global community by Hon’ble Sital Singh Chief
Parliamentary Secretary to the Government of Punjab and Ranjodh
Singh President Ramgarhia Educational Council.
Internationally known drug therapist, encyclopaedist, and museologist
Dr Raghbir Singh Bains is a multifaceted personality. He has earned
global accolades through sustained and untiring commitment by volunteering
his time and service for welfare of others in many countries of
the world.
Raghbir Singh Bains is a well known writer on Sikhism and has authored
many books and produced multimedia literature on the evils of drugs,
rapes, prostitution and AIDS. He is author of the Encyclopaedia
of Sikhism on multimedia technology which is first of its kind in
the world. He is producer-director of Multimedia Sikh Museum which
he set up in India (Khadur Sahib) by using the robotic and liquid
crystal display touch screen technology.
His mission is to create awareness in the fields of drugs, rape,
prostitution, HIV-AIDS and world peace. He works diligently, spending
thousands of hours every year to serve the sick, the needy and the
disabled.
Dr. Bains has vast experience of working on different government
and non-government advisory committees in India and Canada. He is
a productive community activist and a good role model for youth
and seniors . He is a known researcher and scholar on Sikhism, menace
of drugs and peril of AIDS. He did research on HIV-AIDS in Kenya,
Uganda and Tanzania. He is advocate for positive race relations
and firmly believes in mutual harmony and world peace. He is a vibrant
person who has enriched the global communities by producing monumental
literature on different aspects of human life and by offering exemplary
volunteer services to different segments of the society hailing
from different cultural, social and familial backgrounds. He has
addressed hundreds of seminars and conferences world-wide on the
subjects of drugs, prostitution, AIDS awareness, environmental issues
and world peace.
Because of his missionary work in helping global people, Dr Bains
has been elevated and decorated with dozens of prestigious awards
like Order of British Columbia Canada, Vashesh Sahitya Award, Order
of Khalsa, Panth Ratan Award, International Dasmesh Award, Good
Citizen of Surrey title Canada, Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden
Jubilee Medal Canada, Information Technology Volunteer Award India,
Wisdom of Age Mentorship Award Vancouver, Canada, Order of Nishan-e-Sikhi,
India, Sikh Scholar of Computer Age, India, Lifetime Achievement
Award-2007, Canada, Community Mentor Award Canada and Philanthropy
Award 2007 Canada etc.
Dr Bains is deeply involved in making the globe a drug free haven
to live in peacefully. He has toured dozens of countries in the
world to create awareness about drugging, prostitution and HIV-AIDS.
His interest in promoting humanitarianism, mutual understanding,
universal brotherhood, human welfare, life value system, peace and
prosperity in the world is commendable. He visits India every year
to address the youth in universities, colleges and schools so that
they become well versed with the cultural and societal values to
make this globe a better livable place in the 21st century.
