The Arts Garden in the heart of Downtown was a beautiful venue. The evening's arts and cultural performances included a beautiful rendition of the American National Anthem: "The Star Spangled Banner" by the internationally renowned celebrity and now a Hoosier American, Anita Hjorth Lerche; the dances by the fabulous Bollywood Beats, BhartNatyam by Vani Sharma, and others.

Mayor Hogsett, Mayor Sukbun addressed the gathering, and the Indiana Secretary of State, Diego Morales, had a special surprise for the celebrated Indiana artist, author and community volunteer, KP Singh presenting him with the prestigious Honorary Indiana Secretary of State Award.

The Awards Ceremony led by Rupal Thakker Thanawala, the dynamic President of AAAI, in her welcome remarks recognized several outstanding friends of the Hoosier Asians and international community. Beautiful Videos and colorful photos highlighted the history and journey of the AAAI and Hoosier Asians. Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb sent a thought video message for the special occasion.

A PRAYERFUL REFLECTION: It was wonderful to look back at my past 56 years as an active pioneer and dedicated Asian Hoosier who had the honor to participate in Indiana's cultural and international renaissance from a front row seat and to be a partner in so many thoughtful opportunities to engage and serve. This was a moment to witness with pride: How far the City and the State of Indiana have come to our attracting and welcoming talents and new pioneers to the Hoosier Heartland from around the world. New doors are opening every day for us to step up and to serve. The Indiana renaissance and its emergence as an attractive destination is continuing at an exceptional pace.

There is always much work to be done to inspire all our citizens to be partners in the vitality and promise of our State. Our farsighted leaders, institutions, and media friends are working hard to create a sense of belonging: "All Hoosiers Matter" and "One Indiana For All." Learning about all people, resources, heritage attractions and valued assets are an important step owards creating a more prosperous and promising destination. This interest needs to stay ignited and as an open invitation to all.

Our congratulations to Rupal Thakker Thanawala and the dedicated AAAI Team that worked for months on this landmark celebration. We salute all the Awards recipients, the many generous sponsors and friends for the encouragement and contributions to the vision of an amazing visionary leader and philanthropist, Dr. Albert Chen, founder of the Telamon Corporation. Albert has been and continues to be a guiding light and supporter of so many worthy causes and initiatives. ~ Respectfully, KP Singh (KP Singh Designs) - Indianapolis, Indiana USA -March 30, 2024.
