May the hands and spirit of the surgeons
and medical personnel at Riley Hospital for Children be
guided by the Power and Light of God and His angels as they
perform delicate heart surgery on a frail 15-month old Qudrat
Ullah. A precious blessing for the parents, Hakim Gul and
Tajbara Wardak of Afghanistan, Qudrat now is a universal
symbol of all that is right and noble about humanity. The
young Qudrat (literally meaning Nature) has many new friends:
the proud sponsoring Rotarians, Indiana National Guard,
the Riley staff, and legions of supporters and well-wishers.
Such life-saving acts are a friendship bridge to other faiths,
cultures, and human continents.
Our heart-felt thanks to those who have
made myriad arrangements and sacrifices for the treatment
of Qudrat in Indiana. While we recognize that there are
millions of urgent and needy situations, we find comfort
in the Jewish spirituality that each such humanitarian endeavor
symbolizes saving all humanity.
We hope that many will step forward to financially
assist in the continuing care of young Qudrat and his family.
For this moment we pray for the Wonderful Lord's healing
touch and join millions around the world in spreading "carpets
of prayers" around little Qudrat that he be restored
to full health and blessed a long life.
