The event, graced by prominent personalities, served as a tribute to the elderly and underscored the Trust’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of senior citizens and marginalized communities.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab, was warmly welcomed by the Chairman of DBC Trust, Mr. Anil K. Monga. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kataria lauded Mr. Monga’s tireless efforts in the service of humanity over the past 28 years. He highlighted the unique initiative of the Heavenly Palace, which provides care, comfort, and companionship to senior citizens, making it a model for similar institutions across the country.
The Governor also praised the Trust's BrahmBhog program, which played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic. In association with the Punjab administration, the program delivered more than 4 million free meals to the needy, ensuring that no one went hungry during the unprecedented crisis. Mr. Kataria commended Mr. Monga and his team for this outstanding service, recognizing it as a beacon of hope in times of hardship and a shining example of humanitarian outreach.
In his speech, Mr. Monga expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor and shared exciting plans for the future. He emphasized the Trust’s mission to continue uplifting the downtrodden sections of society, focusing on providing shelter, education, and holistic support through various programs. He further reiterated the Trust’s commitment to expanding its initiatives to serve more people in need.
The event was further honored by the presence of His Holiness Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, whose spiritual wisdom inspired the audience, and Padma Bhushan Dr. S. S. Johl, Senior Advisor to the Trust, who shared insightful remarks about the importance of senior care in modern society.
The celebrations featured a vibrant cultural program, presented by the residents of Heavenly Palace and the children of Heavenly Angels, the orphanage run by the Trust. Traditional dances, melodious songs, and a captivating drama brought joy and cheer to the gathering, embodying the essence of love, unity, and cultural heritage.
The event concluded with a sumptuous lunch, where all attendees—residents, children, and dignitaries—shared in the warmth and fellowship of the occasion.
