Ranbir Singh, 17, Sikh teenager, died following a road collision in Southall, south-west London, early Saturday morning.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to South Road after reports of a collision involving a Ford Mustang. Despite efforts by emergency services, Ranbir Singh, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested the driver, 20-year-old Sukhveer Singh, who has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a vehicle without insurance.

Sukhveer Singh appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on October 19.

Another passenger, a 26-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

The Metropolitan Police have appealed for witnesses and are seeking CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage that could help establish what happened. Investigators are particularly interested in information about the Ford Mustang’s movements in the Southall area and its manner of driving before the collision.
