NRI Nikki Haley, GOP presidential candidate has openly criticized President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to appoint NRI Tulsi Gabbard to key positions in his administration. Haley raised concerns about their qualifications and past controversies, emphasizing the potential risks of these choices.

Kennedy, tapped to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, has faced backlash for his lack of health care expertise and his history of controversial statements on vaccines. Haley pointed out his background as a "liberal Democrat" and questioned his qualifications. "He’s not trained, educated, or experienced in health care,” she remarked during her SiriusXM show, "Nikki Haley Live." Kennedy, who has a long history of vaccine skepticism, has recently claimed he is not anti-vaccine, but public health experts worry his appointment could undermine vaccination progress.

Haley also took issue with the selection of former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence, calling her past comments on Syria "disgusting" and accusing her of echoing Russian propaganda. Haley highlighted Gabbard’s 2017 meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during the Syrian civil war as particularly troubling, stating, “This is a job for an honest broker, not someone with clear biases. Her actions in Syria were inexcusable.”

Gabbard defended her meeting with Assad as a fact-finding mission, though she later referred to him as a “brutal dictator.” Gabbard’s opposition to U.S. involvement in Syria and Ukraine has also drawn criticism. Her lack of intelligence experience raises additional concerns about her suitability for the role.

The nominations of Kennedy and Gabbard have sparked significant debate, and their Senate confirmation processes are expected to be contentious. Meanwhile, Trump’s choice for Attorney General, former Rep. Matt Gaetz, withdrew his candidacy amidst a House Ethics Committee investigation into allegations of misconduct.

The controversial appointments have raised questions about Trump’s decision-making as he forms his administration, with critics, including Haley, voicing apprehensions about their potential impact on U.S. policy and governance.
