Biography:

• Mandy Brar (full name: Mahinder Kaur), originally hails from the village of Akhara in Jagraon. Her proud parents, Jagjit Singh and Gian Kaur, say it is her passion for social service that has brought her to this point, and they are confident that she will make her community proud as mayor.
• Her professional journey began as a quality controller at Burton's Biscuit Company, followed by a position at Midland Bank (now HSBC).
• In 1989, Brar and her husband, Harry, moved to Kukkem with their two sons, Dhanvir and Arunvir.
• She managed the Hillcrest Store, affectionately known as "Mandy's", for 34 years before retiring in November 2023.
• Brar's commitment to public service is evident in her more than 30 years of political involvement.
• She was first elected to Cookham Parish Council and is currently serving her third term as a Royal Borough Councillor representing the Bisham and Cookham ward.
