About 15 Punjabi NRI candidates were in the fray for the Alberta provincial elections in Canada for which the polling was held on May 29, 2023. These individuals have earned the support of the people. Rajan Sawhney, Parmeet Singh Boporai, Jasvir Deol, Gurinder Brar

 

Rajan Sawhney, a sitting cabinet minister from the United Conservative Party (UCP), secured a victory in Calgary North West.

  • Rajan Sawhney ECA MLA (born May 2, 1971) is a Canadian politician who was elected in the 2019 Alberta general election to represent the electoral district of Calgary-Northeast in the 30th Alberta Legislature.

  • She was appointed to be the Minister of Community & Social Services in the Executive Council of Alberta. On July 8, 2021,
  • She was shuffled into the Minister of Transportation.

Amanpreet Singh Gill, Raman Athwal, R Singh Bath, Gurinder Singh Gill, Harry Singh, Aman Sandhu, Jeewan Mangat, and Braham Luddu all showcased their dedication to serving their communities.

The contributions of these candidates have enriched the political landscape, fostering an environment of a vibrant democracy, Khalsa Vox reported. The strong presence of the Punjabi community in Alberta cannot be overlooked. Gurinder is running for office to ensure that Albertans always have access to strong public education and healthcare, and to control the punishing monthly bills the UCP has imposed on families and businesses.
