Canada Maninder Sidhu, Minister, lead 300-member trade delegation to India to unlock new bilateral trade opportunities

The Honorable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, announced that he will lead the Team Canada Trade Mission to India, Canada’s largest commercial engagement in India in recent years, with stops in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
- October 12 to 17, 2026, Minister Sidhu will lead nearly 300 delegates who will connect with Indian decision makers, key industry players and potential clients to expand commercial relations and build new partnerships that create good-paying jobs at home. This is the largest trade delegation Canada has sent to India in over 30 years.
The trade mission will include businesses from Canada’s aerospace and space, clean technologies and energy transition, information and communication technologies, life sciences and agri-food sectors.
- The trade mission will also build on Minister Sidhu’s work to deepen Canada’s trade relationship with India, which includes ongoing efforts to conclude a comprehensive economic partnership agreement by the end of the year.

NRI Maninder Sidhu Secures Re-Election as MP for Brampton East in 2025 Federal Election

NRI Liberal candidate Maninder Sidhu has been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Brampton East in the 2025 Canadian federal election. Sidhu, who has represented the riding since 2019, secured a decisive victory over Conservative candidate Bob Dosanjh Singh. In the 2021 election, Sidhu garnered 53.49% of the vote, reflecting strong support within the community.
Throughout his tenure, Sidhu has been an active member of the Standing Committee on Natural Resources and the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure, and Communities. He has also engaged in various international parliamentary associations, including the Canada-Africa Parliamentary Association and the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association.

- Maninder Sidhu, born in April 1984, is a Canadian Member of Parliament representing Brampton East since 2019. A member of the Liberal Party, Sidhu was re-elected in 2021 with an increased margin, reflecting strong support in his constituency.
