The United States Department of State has imposed visa restrictions on owners, senior managers, and top officials of travel agencies based in India who are knowingly involved in assisting or encouraging illegal migration to the U.S.
Teams from the U.S. Embassy and Consulates across India — especially those from the Consular Affairs and Diplomatic Security Service — are actively identifying and taking action against individuals and organizations engaged in unauthorized migration, human smuggling, and trafficking operations.
This initiative is part of a broader campaign to dismantle the infrastructure that supports illegal immigration. By placing visa limits on key players within travel agencies, the U.S. aims to deter future violations and uphold the integrity of its immigration system.
U.S. immigration policy is designed not only to warn foreign nationals of the dangers and consequences of unlawful entry but also to ensure that those who enable such actions face accountability.
Strict enforcement of immigration laws is essential to protecting national security and preserving the rule of law. These visa restrictions are global in scope and also apply to individuals who might otherwise qualify for entry under the Visa Waiver Program.
This action is taken under the authority granted by Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
