Sikhs in Metro Los Angeles  celebrated Hola Mahalla on March 27 at 7940 Mission Blvd, Riverside, California.

HOLA or Hola Mohalla, is a three-day long Sikh festival which normally falls in March. Hola Mohalla is a big festive event for Sikhs around the world.

The Guru Granth Sahib contains passages prescribing the celebration of Holi by serving God.This was where Guru Gobind Singh presented the Hola celebration in the spring of 1701, the day after Holi. Hola Mohalla conveys the message of courage and defense preparation, concepts dear to the Tenth Guru, who defended the Sikhs against the threats of the Mughal Empire and the Hill Kings.

People take part in religious songs and prayer, enjoy communal meals and perform daring feats, such as Gatka martial arts performances.
