NRI Rattan Joea, Shuttle tycoon celebrates his son's 10th Birthday

Mr. Rattan Singh Joea and his beautiful wife Parminder celebrated their son Amar’s 10th Birthday with the Blessings of the Guru.

The Akhand Path Sahib was started at their New residence on Thursday July 30, 2009 at 10:30 AM. The Bhog ceremony was on Saturday August 1, at 11 AM.

There was a tea break for half an hour after the Bhog ceremony. The arrangements were in their beautiful backyard. A huge white tent was installed and the tables with white linens were very well decorated with flowers and colored balloons along with white chairs. Hot tea, cold drinks,Indian snacks and sweets were served. In the basketball court, the children were shooting balls and having fun.

There after Gurbani kirtan was recited for one hour by a famous ragi Jatha of Bhai Gurdeep Singh from Lankershim Gurdwara. The sangat enjoyed the melodious shabad kirtan. There were about 150 people assembled and some of them came as far as 80 miles. Community leaders and activists including Mr. Harry Sidhu a council member of City of Anaheim, Harbhajan Samra of Samra Produce & Farms and Inder Singh, president of GOPIO, attended the function.

After Ardaas and Hukum Nama Parshaad was distributed. By this time a fresh & delicious vegetarian lunch was prepared on the premises. It was a buffet style. People lined up for the food and enjoyed it. The day was beautiful sunny and bright. Then it was the cake cutting and children were screaming with joy. The birthday boy master Amar’s grandmother presence added more color and happiness to the occasion. All in all the celebration was unique. It was a memorable event.
