After college studies, Mr. Rattan Joea landed a driving job with a Shuttle
Company to transport passengers from and to the airport at Los Angeles.
During this time he was dreaming to have his own business. In 1992
he purchased his first van and started his own company “Prime
Time Shuttle”. Then onward he never looked back and builds
an empire of over 200 vans.
In 1999 he got an idea and approached Supper Shuttle his competitor.
Together they proposed to the Airport Authorities to regulate the
shuttle business. In other words the shuttle company must be approved
by the Airport Authorities. The vehicles must be properly insured
and maintained for the safety of the public.
The Airport authority’s award contracts to the approved shuttle
companies a 5 years term. Prime Time Shuttle is enjoying its 2nd
term now.
Today Prime Shuttle is among the top two companies in the US and
enjoys the highest booking in the nation. Customers can make reservation
from over 100 major airports in the United Stated. The company has
received many awards for its excellent operations and service.
Prime Time Shuttle has a Franchise contract in Connecticut for
some time now and franchisee has more than 30 vans in operation
under the banner Prime Time Shuttle.
Mr. Rattan Joea is also a founder member of “GO Airport Shuttle”.
It is a networking group. The other founder is Mr. John McCartney,
president of Airport Shuttle, Chicago and Mr. Paul Seeger of Prime
Time Shuttle of Connecticut. Go Group is focus to create a brand.
Prime Time Shuttle is the major share holder of the Go group. Go
group already has signed 12 franchise contracts with shuttle companies
on major airports. It also has networking arrangements in UK at
London Airport.
Prime Time Shuttle is enjoying a great success. Mr. Rattan Joea
is a very sharp but modest person. When asked how much revenue his
company generates, he changes the subject. But our estimate is about
20 million turnovers a year.
As for as the future plans Mr. Rattan Joea replied his goal is
to motivate the airlines to service the customers door to door by
collaborating with the Shuttle companies. That will eliminate unnecessary
waiting and will save a lot of time for passengers.
He was born in Punjab, India. He was only 8 years of age when he
lost his father. His father S. Raghbir Singh Joea was in the Indian
Air Force. He died in a car accident. In 1982 at the age of 16 Rattan
immigrated to United States with his mother and the other family
members. He finished the high school and started college. While
in college he worked on minimum wage jobs to pay for school.
