Dr. Jaswant Singh, General Surgeon posted at the Government Hospital in Derabassi, saved the life of a person seriously injured in a road accident while performing his duty. Due to a deep wound on the right side of the patient's abdomen and heavy bleeding, there was no time to refer him to Chandigarh. Dr. Jaswant left all his work and operated on the patient and saved his life. According to information, 35-year-old Swaran Singh, son of Gurmeet Singh, resident of Bhankharpur, was brought to the Civil Hospital in Derabassi in a seriously injured condition after being hit by a vehicle near Rampur. The wound in his abdomen was so big that his entire hand was going inside and a large amount of blood was flowing.

Dr. Jaswant, seeing the critical condition of the patient, gave up all his work and Jaswant Singh, without any delay, neither created a file nor conducted any tests and immediately took the patient to the OT and started the operation. It was mandatory to take the consent of the patient or the patient, but when the patient was hesitating, Magoz himself signed the consent paper.

Dr. Jaswant said that it would have taken half an hour to take the patient to PGI, Chandigarh, during which the patient's life was in danger. Under his leadership, Dr. Nurjot Kaur, staff nurse Pooja and OT assistant Kulwinder Kaur from the anesthesia department performed the operation and saved the patient's life. During the operation, the dead tissue was removed and the twisted intestine was treated. The patient was operated on under spinal anesthesia and he remained conscious throughout the procedure. At present, the patient's condition is stable and his blood pressure and pulse are normal.
