Gurpreet Kangar appointed secretary Punjab Congress
CHANDIGARH, May 16, 2012
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today appointed former MLA Gurpreet Singh Kangar as the secretary of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.
The PCC President handed over the letter of appointment to Mr Kangar at a simple function at the PCC office here today in presence of senior party leaders and workers. Mr Kangar was accompanied by former MLA Mr Makhan Singh and Jaitu MLA Joginder Singh Panjgraian.

Capt Amarinder Singh reminded Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal of his commitment on acting against the vendetta cases registered against the Congress workers--. a former legislator, Gurpreet Kangar, and 21 others were being falsely implicated in a case under section 307 of the IPC. Amarinder alleged that a “false case” was slapped against the MLA at the behest of his political opponents on the day the results were declared.
