New Ambassador to Singapore

Upon landing, Ambassador NRI Sinha expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for his new role. “It is a tremendous honor to represent the United States in Singapore — a close partner, a major hub for American businesses, and an essential contributor to regional stability,” he said. He added that he looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Singapore across key areas. “President Trump has encouraged me to elevate our collaboration based on mutual respect and shared goals. I am particularly excited to work together in fields like technology, energy, and security.”
A respected orthopedic surgeon and successful entrepreneur, Ambassador Sinha brings decades of professional experience to his diplomatic position. He noted that his medical career shaped his approach to leadership. “As a physician, my focus has always been on understanding people and achieving meaningful outcomes. I hope to bring that same commitment to deepening ties between our nations.”
His appointment underscores the United States’ dedication to expanding its longstanding partnership with Singapore. For nearly six decades, both countries have cooperated closely in areas such as advanced technology, energy resilience, security operations, and defense engagements — delivering real benefits to citizens on both sides.
Ambassador Sinha is accompanied by his wife, Dr. Kiki Sinha, a retired anesthesiologist and longtime New York University faculty member. The couple has been married for 48 years and are proud parents of two children and grandparents to three.
