'I am kattar imaandaar': Arvind Kejriwal breaks down after clean chit in Delhi excise policy case ... “My life is very demanding”

As of February 27, 2026, Arvind Kejriwal has been discharged by a Delhi court in the high-profile Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case related to the Delhi excise policy.
A Delhi court on Friday has discharged former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the CBI case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy. Shortly after the verdict, Kejriwal speaking to the media, broke down heavily, reaffirming his innocence.

"Kejriwal is not corrupt. I have always earned honesty. They framed in fake case, and it proven today. The court has stated that Arvind Kejriwal is 'kattar imaandaar, Manish Sisodia is 'kattar imaandaar,' Aam Aadmi Party is 'kattar imaandaar'," he said.

Recalling his arrest, Kejriwal said that the hard times did not break his resolve. He further urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to topple governments for power. Rather he should "remain in office by serving the people of the nation."

The order was passed by Special Judge Jitender Singh at the Rouse Avenue Court Complex. He discharged all the 23 accused in the case and declined to frame charges in the corruption case. The court also flagged serious deficiencies in the investigation and criticised the CBI for implicating the accused without sufficient materials to support their claims.

  • Court Verdict: Special Judge Jitender Singh at the Rouse Avenue Court cleared Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and 21 others, citing a lack of evidence for criminal conspiracy or intent.
  • CBI Criticism: The court flagged "serious deficiencies" in the investigation and criticized the CBI for implicating the accused without sufficient supporting material.
  • Reaction: Following the verdict, an emotional Kejriwal reaffirmed his "kattar imaandaar" status, stating that the court's decision proved his innocence and that the case was a "political conspiracy"
