NRI Joby Jacob, 33, of Ffordd Gwenllian in Llanfair PG, Anglesey
has been convicted and banned from returning to his own home for
two years for exposing his private parts to a woman in the neighborhood.
The judge, Mr Recorder Wyn Lloyd Jones at Mold Crown Court placed
him on supervision for two years, to include one to one focus
work on his sexual behavior and also do 150 hours unpaid work.
He must not return to the estate where he lives with his wife
and child because his victim also lives in the local community.
The judge said that the local community had made the defendant
welcome, what had occurred was the defendant's own fault and no
one else's, and that he wrongly saw himself as the victim.
The prosecutor Simon Mills said how the woman was “dumbstruck”
when she spotted the defendant exposing himself to her as she
held her child.
Jacob claimed he was taking antibiotics for a chest infection
which made him itch all over but his story was rejected by a jury
at Caernarfon Crown Court. Jacob had alleged that he was not wanted
in the local area and that the way he had been treated by the
community was racist. He is a church-going science graduate, denied
exposing himself and claimed he was simply "having a scratch".
Defending barrister Gordon Hennell said:
- Jacob who followed the hearing with the aid of an interpreter,
still denied the offence and intelligent family man
- Custody was not appropriate for a first time offence and an
ASBO as suggested by the prosecution was Draconian and not appropriate.
- He opposed an order prohibiting the defendant from returning
to the local community, where he had invested in his own home.
