NRI Balesh Dhankhar, a well-known figure in the Indian community in Australia, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for sexually assaulting five Korean women. The Australian court found him guilty of premeditated and heinous crimes.
Dhankhar, former IT consultant, lured his victims through fake job advertisements, drugged them, and carried out the assaults at his Sydney residence. He meticulously recorded his crimes, exposing his manipulative and predatory behavior.
Judge Michael King condemned Dhankhar’s actions as a “planned and egregious sequence of predatory conduct,” emphasizing the stark contrast between his respected public image and his hidden criminal activities. Before his arrest in 2018, Dhankhar was regarded as an influential community figure, effectively concealing his true nature.
