Sanjay Tripathy, 48,  IT Specialist,  married businessman of North Carolina, was found guilty of criminal sex act, sex abuse, sexually assaulting, brutally beating, choking in connection to the June 15, 2016, attack at the W Hotel in Times Square.

Sanjay Tripathy faces up to 25 years in prison when he will be sentenced  on July 18.  He was ordered held without bail by Justice Erika Edwards after his conviction in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Sanjay met the 38-year-old  woman on SeekingArrangement.com, where he advertised himself that he had $10 million in the bank. SeekingArrangement.com never employ fake dating profiles. You get to try this website first before you pay for anything. Finally, the website feature more beautiful sugar babies per sugar daddy (4 females to each male!), and more diamond sugar daddies than any other online dating website out there. In fact, there are more Fortune 400 billionaires on SeekingArrangement.com than any online dating site

According to the testimony at trial, Sanjay Tripathy asked her to his room with the promise of a "gift" after they had drinks at the hotel bar. Tripathy's story was that they had consensual rough sex that she accepted payment for.

  • The jurors saw photos of her badly swollen and bruised face and neck. She had two black eyes, including one that was entirely bloodshot, and clumps of blood in her long, blond hair.

  • Her face was so puffy she was barely recognizable as the woman who the jury saw testify.

  • The woman said she was choked to the point she thought she would die, she went across the street to a parked NYPD van and reported that Tripathy had tried to kill her.

  • I had to go to the restroom and I didn't even recognize myself in the mirror

The woman was present in the courtroom when the verdict was read. She cried and let out a gasp when the jury declared Tripathy guilty.

A new lawyer of Tripathy, Franklin Rothman said:

  • After the verdict that the "photos that graphically depicted the extent of the beating were too much to overcome.

  • I think they told a story, but only a partial story, of what really happened inside of that hotel room.

  • I certainly understand the jury verdict, I disagree with it wholeheartedly and I think they got this one wrong," he added.

  • Fight will go on with appeal

Sanjay Tripathy convicted of sexually assault

July 4, 2016

Sanjay Tripathy, 46, strangled and sexually assaulted a woman inside the trendy W hotel in Times Square. He took the 36-year-old woman back to his room at the luxury hotel and forced her to perform oral sex. When she tried to leave, the kinky tryst quickly turned into a nightmare, prosecutors said.

Sanjay threatened to kill her. He choked her, causing her to have difficulty breathing. She suffered two black eyes, a bloody nose, a split lip and a chipped tooth, Lipes said.

Tripathy’s lawyer at the time, insisted that the sexual encounter was consensual before it turned into a shakedown by the woman.

At that point she told him, ‘I can ruin you, I will go to the police,’ ” the lawyer said.

The prosecutor told Justice Michael Obus that Tripathy has a net worth of $10 million and an annual income of $1 million.

After reviewing photos of the woman’s injuries, the judge said, “The pictures indicate something entirely unconsensual, to say the least.”
Obus released Tripathy on $750,000 bond.
