NRI Sameer Kamath, a doctoral candidate in mechanical engineering, was found dead in Warren County, the mechanical engineering head Eckhard Groll announced to the ME community
Purdue doctoral candidate Sameer Kamath, 23, was reportedly found dead in the woods at a nature preserve in Warren County.
Kamath was from Massachusetts, Groll said in his email. He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and came to Purdue in the summer of 2021.
He graduated from the department with a master's degree in mechanical engineering on Aug. 4, according to the summer commencement program.
He was slated to graduate from the doctoral program in 2025, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The investigation is ongoing as of Wednesday, and Brummett said an updated press release will be released when more information is available.
