On the request of the police, Dubai-based NRI woman, Serafin
Edwinher had reached in India to give her statements to the police.
She had all the evidence in her possession and would provide
to the police. When she reached at Thiruvananthapuram Airport
on Monday morning, she was given full police protection.
She told media that Godman Swami Amritha Chaithanya alias Santosh
Madhava had frequently visited Dubai as an astrologer and got
Rs 50 lakh from her by promising partnership in business.

Godman Swami Amritha Chaithanya alias Santosh Madhavan was produced
before Magistrate K S Saratchandran, who remanded him to police
custody till May 19.
Three cases have been registerd:
- NRI woman, Sarafin Edwin was allegedly cheated of Rs 45 lakh
- For possessing a tiger skin, under the Wild Life Protection
Act.
- 10th grade student raped whose education was sponsored by
him.

The Kerala police arrested Godman Swami Amritha Chaithanya alias
Santosh Madhavan who was wanted by Interpol of cheating a Dubai-based
NRI woman, Serafin Edwinher of Rs 40 lakh in 2002.
The Kerala government also suspended a Deputy Superintendent of
Police- Sam Christie Daniel for alleged links with ‘godman’
Santhosh Madhavan. It is also said that Sam Christie Daniel is very
close to Santhosh Madhavan and was involved in arranging the party
in connection with Madhavan's wedding.
Swami Amritha Chaithanya alias Santosh Madhavan, 35, founded a
trust called 'Shanthitheeram' and built a palatial ashram in Kochi
after his return from Dubai in 2002. Interestingly, 16-suite ashram
was used as a guest-house for NRIs and play a big role to introduce
NRIs with film stars, politicians, policemen and businessmen.
After a Malayalam newsmagazine report about his Rs 40 lakh cheating
to NRI, he immediately defend himself and said:
- Who is he I don't know but I am a Swami.
- Several media reporters are against me. They are tarnishing
my image and to show me in a bad light.
- A ruling front leader had demanded money from me and promising
to solve this Interpol issue. But I told him that I don't have
any.
Kochi police registered a case under the wild life protection act,
which is a non-bail able offence and he was arrested on these charges.
After the raid of his ashram, the police re coved:
- Pornographic CDs and magazines, foreign liquor, ganja and
tiger skin valued at Rs 150,000.
- A police uniform and land deals papers
The Kerala police is interrogating Santosh Madhavan for his various
cheating and fraud cases in India and abroad.
