Sandhu posing as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Punjab, arrested

North America NRI, Balwinder Singh Sandhu of village Ghurka, near
Goraya allegedly impersonating as superintendent of police (SP),
used to threat various police officials including SHOs and DSPs
to provide him security or face consequences, was arrested today.
SP PS Parmar, addressing a press conference here today said:
- Sandhu used to visit India frequently and pose as a big NRI
businessman or an SP.
- He made a call to Phillaur DSP and fax to Punjab DGP, threatening
them with dire consequences if he was not be provided enough
security
- He had also rang up police control room many time to provide
him pilot car and security whenever he visted his village. He
also would fix a red beacon over the top of his vehicle, which
has been seized.
The police investigated the call and fax, they found Sandhu was
behind these all communications. The police recoved ID card, uniform,
100 fake stamps of including DGP Office, SP, SHO and SDM (Phillaur),
10 passports of different persons and two walkie-talkie sets have
been recovered along with eight sim cards and two blackberries
The police arrested him under sections 420, 467, 468 and 471
of IPC
