18-year-old NRI boy stabbed to death
in Surrey school, Canada

As per reports, deceased was identified as Mehakpreet Sethi who was a resident of Punjab, India. He died after being attacked by miscreants in parking area of Tamanawis Secondary School on Tuesday. Police informed that as soon as this incident was reported, officials reached spot within no time and while taking Mehakpreet to hospital, they lost him. 

This incident took place on November 22, 2022 in parking lot of Surrey, B.C. high school. According to information, Mehakpreet was not a student of that school, he went to pick up his brother when he got attacked.

Police authorities in Canada have informed that a 17-year-old suspect was arrested for this incident. Investigators are believing that deceased and the suspect knew each other before. Officials are trying to talk to students who witnessed the stabbing and taking their statements.

The family moved from Dubai to Canada eight years back.

The father of 18 year-old Harshpreet Sethi said:

• When I went to the hospital, the doctors told me that the weapon directly pierced his heart, which is why he died
• I came to Canada with the hope that my children will have a better future, they will be safe.
• Now I am regretting why I came to this country along with my children
