A non-resident Indian who was on a holiday in Mangalore shot dead as the pistol which he was carrying triggered accidentally on Saturday late night.

The deceased has been identified as Kunjumon Subhash, a resident of Kottara. He was a chartered accountant in Qatar and had reached Mangalore on a holiday recently. He was engaged in a late night party along with his friends at a bar near Yeyyadi.

The accident occurred as he was playing with the pistol while talking over phone inside his car. It was believed that the trigger of the pistol was pressed by him accidentally. He died on the spot as the bullet hit on his right side of the head. Kadri Police have registered a case.
