Hey NRIs, If you are in the process of dumping your wife or never
official divorced in India, think twice to go to India. If your
in-laws are smart and like to revenge, you can be easily arrested
and land in jail.
Read This Story:
NRI Kamaljit Singh from Winnipeg, Canada was arrested on Indira
Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi for allegedly duping his
second wife and for seeking dowry from her. Now he is in Patiala
Central Jail. He hails from Mullanpur Dakha in Ludhiana.
Rimple Verma, a Pratap Nagar resident said in her complaint:
- Kamaljit had married her on February 2, 2006, but never fulfilled
the promise of taking her abroad after the marriage. He is also
alleged to have demanded a sum of Rs 15 lakh from her after the
marriage.
- He was trying to marry a second time even though the two were
not yet divorced
- Kamlajit cheated her by not disclosing before his marriage with
her that he was already married and was a divorcee.
On her complaint, the police have registered a case under sections
420, 498, 406 of the IPC against Kamaljit Singh. With the tip in
the investigation, team of Patiala Police reached on the airport,
arrested him before he could board a flight for Canada
