- Jan 12, 2006 : At Gauhati High Court, two member judge
has set up February 15 as the deadline for the CBI to submit the
chargesheet. The CBI is now working on conspirators and the DIG,
M. Narayanan, has started interrogating fresh suspects to find
out who plotted Debs murder and interrogated several bamboo
traders last week
Yesterday, Rahul Roy, son of Assam social welfare minister
Goutam Roy was interrogated, in Hailakandi . In New Delhi, last
month Roy was extensively interrogated by Lokenath Behera, DIG
of the CBI.
The CBI has also found that the feud between two groups of
bamboo traders had culminated in the killing of NRI
Pratu lDeb.
Basdul Mian, a rival group is in custody of CBI
One group was led by Goutam Roys son Rahul, who is also
the chairman of the Hailakandi district gaon panchayat.
