Punjab Appeals to the Farmers to Obtain J-Form from Commission Agents

Chandigarh, September 8, 2008

The Punjab Government today appealed to the farmers to obtain the J-form from the Commission agents in support of their having sold their produce to the agents.

A spokesman of the State Government said that keeping in view of the likelihood of bonus being announced by the Union Government in response to the demand made by Sh. Adesh Partap Singh Kairon, Food and Supplies Minister, Punjab, on the purchase of paddy, they must obtain the J-Form in support of their having sold their produce to the Commission Agents and to ensure that their names were duly entered in the official Purchase Registers of the Food and Supplies Department and Punjab Mandi Board.

He added that the department had made a similar appeal to the Commission Agents of the State to issue J-Form to the farmers so as to help the Punjab Government in disbursement of bonus in the eventuality of its being announced by the Centre. They were also requested to maintain a proper record of sale transactions of paddy during the current year.


The meeting of Small Scale Industry Development Board- for framing new Industrial Policy

The first meeting of Small Scale Industry Development Board was held under the Chairmanship of Shri Inderjit Singh Pardhan on the 8th of September, 2008 at 12.00 Noon in Udyog Bhawan, Sector -17-B, Chandigarh, to discuss the report of UNIDO and finalize suitable recommendations to the State Government, for framing new Industrial Policy. All the members of the Board attended the Meeting. Shri S.S.Channy, I.A.S., Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Punjab, convener of the Meeting, welcomed the members of the Board. The Board Members were involved in thoughtful interaction regarding the present position of the industry in the State and made valuable suggestions to improve the same. The members exhorted the State Govt. to take initiatives and come out with pragmatic industrial policy to enable the State to regain its lost pride in the national economy. The members also mentioned that they will contribute for the important inputs for framing the industrial policy. They also desired that the Board should meet frequently to discuss the problems in general and of specific nature.

PUNJAB CM GREETS PEOPLE ON PARKASH UTSAV OFBABA SRI CHAND JI

Chandigarh September 8, 2008

Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today greeted the people of Punjab on the Parkash Utsav of Baba Sri Chand ji, the eldest son of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji and the founder of an ascetic sect of Udasis.

In his message, Mr. Badal said that on this sacred occasion we should take a vow to foster goodwill, communal harmony and love amongst the various sections of the society professing different faiths and religions. He said that Punjab - the land of great Gurus, Saints and Seers had been blessed with the bounty of peace, oneness and compassion for the welfare of the mankind.

It may be recalled here that the SAD-BJP government immediately after assuming office declared gazetted holidays on various historic and religious occasions and a holiday on the parkash utsav of Baba Sri Chand ji was also a testimony to SAD-BJP alliance's firm commitment towards the secular approach and respect for all the religions irrespective of color, class and creed.

Mr. Badal called upon the people of the State to celebrate the occasion in unison by rising above the materialistic values and parochial considerations.


 

STATE SUBMONTANE AND KANDI AREAS COUNCIL RECONSTITUTED

The Punjab Government today reconstituted Punjab State Submontane and Kandi Areas Council by including the name of Smt. Mohinder Kaur Josh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Education), M.L.A. Sham Chaurasi as non-official member in it.


 

SIX IAS AND ONE PCS TRANSFERRED IN PUNJAB

The Punjab Government today transferred and posted 6 IAS officers and 1 PCS officer including the Deputy Commissioners of Mansa and Fatehgarh Sahib Districts.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Punjab Government said that Mr. Surjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Mansa have been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib vice Sh. Ashok Kumar Singla and Mr. Kumar Rahul, Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare posted as Deputy Commissioner, Mansa vice Sh. Surjit Singh. Besides Mr. Vijay Namdeorao Zade, A.D.C (Dev.), Bathinda would be the Additional Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Patiala against vacant post. Smt. Kavita Mohan Singh Chouhan S.D.M. Roopnagar posted as A.D.C. (Dev) Ropar relieving the departmental officer, Smt. Shruti Singh, S.D.M Chamkaur Sahib has been transferred as A.D.C. (Dev.) Bathinda vice Sh. Vijay Namdeorao Zade and Mr. Gurtej Singh, PCS, Joint Secretary-cum-Joint Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has been posted as S.D.M. Rajpura relieving Sh. Gurmit Singh of this additional charge.

He added that orders of posting of Sh. Ashok Kumar Singla would be issued separately.
