LA NRI Community Celebrates Teeyan da Mela Festival

Teeyan Da Mela was celebrated in Southern California at Royal Banquet Hall, Upland on July 30, 2017. Approximately 500 ladies, girls dressed up in beautiful Punjabi attire attended the Mela, which was hosted by none other than gorgeous Harjit Uppal who kept the audience completely involved throughout. An amazing evening full of fun and traditions was enjoyed by everyone. 
The event was started by ladies singing famous Punjabi songs sung by Nightingale of Punjabi folk Late Surinder Kaur.
Then it took off with beautiful Gidha performances by Teeyan Dyan Muttiaraan, Kudian Da Wakhra Swag( Buena Park ), Gidha Muttiaraan Da( Organizers), Roop Dian Ranian ( Walnut Gurdwara Sahib), Majajana (Buena Park) and Gidhe Dian Shaukeen Muttiaraan gave a very energetic performance. 
The host involved the audience by inviting them to sing songs, sithanyaan and mimicry. Another amazing performance by Jaspal Maan and Baby on a famous old folk, Baba Ve Kala Marod was a heart throb!
This event is in its fourth successful year and more and more Punjabi’s are joining to make it a huge success.
However it’s not possible without the untiring efforts of the host team Deepi Brar, Meena Bhasin, Tejinder Grewal, Rajinder Kaur Hayer, Harpreet Kaur, Jaspaal Maan, Joyti Pannu, Gurjit Johal, Bhupinder Kaur Nijjar, Neetu Chhokar, Rimpi, Jass Sandhu, Premjit Shoker, Sandip Kaur.
